Cookies & storage

How the Society website uses your browser’s storage, and how to control optional features.

Last reviewed: 7 September 2026. We have not added advertising trackers or visitor analytics. Essential sign-in and requested app features use browser storage. Optional Squabbit leaderboards require your permission.

Loading a leaderboard connects your browser to Squabbit and shares connection details such as your IP address. Squabbit may use its own cookies or storage. Embedded leaderboards stay hidden while this is off; you can still open them directly in Squabbit. Turning this off stops future embeds; clear your browser’s site data to remove existing third-party storage.

Member sign-in

Supabase stores a session in your browser so you can stay signed in. It is used only for account access and is cleared when you sign out or clear site data. Temporary verification storage is also used during account setup.

The installed app

The app stores public pages and assets for offline use. Member documents, account pages and committee management responses are excluded from the offline cache.

Your leaderboard choice

On your first visit, a pop-up offers Essential only or Allow leaderboard cookies. This browser remembers your choice for up to 180 days. Embedded Squabbit leaderboards will not show if you choose Essential only, but you can still open them directly in Squabbit. Change your choice below at any time.

Push notifications

If you enable alerts, your browser creates a delivery address. The Society stores that address and your chosen news, events, results and Society announcements settings. Turn alerts off in the member area or in your browser’s notification settings.

Manage notification preferences in the member area. Clearing your browser’s site data removes stored settings and may sign you out. Linked websites have their own privacy and cookie information.
